Xenofon Dilo, among the first Albanian film painters!

Xenofon Dilo, Painter, scenographer, screenwriter. He holds the title of Merited Painter. He was born in Topove, Gjirokastra, on January 15, 1932. He came into contact with art at the very young age of 5, when his village teacher gave him maps to color. He finished his higher studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). In 1958, he started working as a film painter in cinematography. A year later in 1959 he, together with A. Mjagow, was the painter of the Albanian-Russian film "Fortuna" (directed by Ozerov and Damo). We v. 1961-1963, together with G. Ikonomi, created the scenography of the films "Debate" (1961), "Special Task" (1963). While in 1965 he made his first film as an independent painter with the title "The First Years" and until In 1975, he also made 7 films as a painter: "Commissioner of Light" (1966), "Ngadhenjim mubi death" (1967), "Perse bie kjo daulle" (1969), "The Happy Couple" (1975) as well as the television film with 5 "Third" series (1978). Among other things, she also wrote the screenplay for the film "Perse bie kjo daulle" (1969) and was a co-author with A. Kondo in the screenplay for the film "When the day dawned" (1971). In the years 1969-1973, he worked as a lecturer at the High Institute of Arts. After 1975, he left cinematography and initially worked as the Secretary of the League of Writers and Artists of Albania. He worked for the visual arts, stage designer and prop designer in the Opera and Ballet theater, and recently until he became a freelancer, former Director of the Art Gallery in Tirana (1987-1992).
