Marko Bitraku (1951 – 2015)
Well-known actor of the “AZ Cajupi” Theater and Albanian Cinema.

Born in Lavdar of Opari in the district of Korça. After finishing his higher studies at the High Institute of Arts (today the Academy of Arts) in 1974 he started working as a professional actor in the “Andon Zako Çajupi” Theater of Korça. On the stage of this theater, he will perform dozens of roles that will make him known to the art-loving public.

Here we can mention his performances in the role of Bon Marche` in the comedy “The Barber of Seville” or the role of Hain in the drama “Franku V” of Durrenmatt. His most recent role will be that of Jovan Bregu in the comedy “Jovan Bregu, the refugee” by Adelina Balashi.

In 2008, he will also direct the monodrama “The White Veil” by Odise Plaku. He has performed more than 13 roles in cinematography. His first role will be in the “Coping” Movie in 1976. Other roles would continue, such as the Commander of the Gendarmes in the movie “Mesonjetorja” in 1979, the role of Selman in the movie “Nothing is forgotten” in 1985, the role of Rushka in the film “People in the Stream”, the role of Sami in the film “Dear Enemy” in 2004, etc.

The most recent interpretation of the actor Marko Bitraku is in the movie “Provincial Chronicle” in 2009. “Pirouette” or even in the dramatic series “People and fate”, precisely from this series the film “It was time for love” was born.

Passed away on October 8, 2015.
