Dhimitër Jano (1945-2005)
Actor of the Theater “Bylis” – Fier and of the Albanian Cinematography.
Jano was born in Fier on December 1st. Head of ILA, the High Institute of Arts for actors in 1972 and soon after was appointed to the “Bylis te Fieri” theater.
On the stage of this theater, he performed about 50 roles, starting from the main ones to the episodic characters, showing the same care and attention. His tendencies became more visible in the field of comedy, where he also drew some original characters, which have remained in the public’s memory.
Jano achieved his greatest success with the role of Niqifor in the brilliant comedy “Comrade Niqifor” by Pellumb Kulles, with which he brought a leader preoccupied with work, with a good essence, but confused and somewhat euphoric. He was natural in the humorous approaches he made, he maintained a sense of proportion and, when needed, dramatic and psychological experiences, manipulating well the elements of the grotesque and comic exaggeration, as seen in shows such as: “This is how I love you”; “God strikes with his foot”; “The gentleman who betrays his wife”; “Kercuri”; “The future lies in eggs”; “Sorollopi” etc. theatrical performances.
Also in cinematography, Dhimiter Jano played in several Albanian films of the Kinostudio, of which we can remember in the cast: “The emblem of the past” (1979); “Blerta’s Engagement” (1984); “Shadows that remain behind” (1985); “Rough Shore” (1988);
