“Heroes of Vig” Kole Jakova
On August 21, 1944, the partisans Ahmet Haxhia, Ndoc Mazi, Ndoc Deda, Naim Gjylbegu and Hydajet Lezha were treacherously killed by the traitorous of Gjon Marka Gjon, in Vig of Mirdita. For their heroic attitude, the People’s Assembly awarded them the high title “Heroes of the Albanian People”. The renowned playwright Kole Jakova dedicated a poem in 1953 to these five brave men.
