Niko Treni
Operator of documentary, and feature films from Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”.
He was born in Tirana on October 9, 1947. Treni finished his studies at the University of Tirana for history and geography. Since the beginning of the 70s, he started working at Kinostudio, first shooting newsreels, and later devoted himself almost entirely to documentary films, where he made a valuable contribution to the realization of about 25 films until 1990, where we can mention:
“Towards mastery” – 1979; “Where melodies originate” – 1980; “Popular Housing” – 1981; “Cooperative Volleyball Players” – 1981; “Innovators of Wood” -1982; “Helmes 84” – 1984; “Day on the Track” – 1984; “River of Life” – 1984; “Banks of Prespa” – 1985; “When a Youth Song Starts” – 1985; “Fanfare of Harves” – 1985; “Lights of Knowledge” – 1987; “With the Sailors of Distant Lines” – 1987; “Port Innovators” – 1987; “Music in Arberia” – 1988 honored with the Second Prize; “Castle of Songs” co-author honored with the First Prize at the Documentary Film Festival, etc.
In the meantime, he co-authored feature films such as
“Uprising in the Palace” – 1972 / “Intendent” – 1980 / “Old Cartridge” – 1980 / “City Lights” – 1982 / and the last film shot by him, “Collapse of Idols” – 1985.
Other films: “Cermenika” – 1973; “May 1, 1973”; “Marinela Ensemble in Albania” – 1979; as well as about 10 other films.
It was also taken with the shooting of some subjects and different personalities for archival purposes. He continues to practice the profession of cameraman and currently works in the management staff of “Nilor-Film Production”
