Born in Dardhe in Korce on September 28, 1936. One of the most famous Albanian writers. He is the author of several novels, dramas, stories and various novellas. In 1976, he began to collaborate with cinematography by writing the script for the film “Confrontation”, a film which was awarded the Special Award for screenplay and direction at the 2nd Albanian Film Festival in 1977. He wrote a total of nine scripts for artistic, cinematographic and television films. Among the most successful ones that echoed were: “Confrontation” – 1977; “And one day comes” – 1987; “Flutura in my cabin” – 1988; “Years of waiting” – 1990;

One of the most successful comedies, “Rain in the Beach” also bears his signature. For a while he directed the editorial office of feature films at Kinostudio and in 1990 he was appointed director of Albafilm. Through the democratic processes, he was elected a deputy in the People’s Assembly in 1992 and in 1995 he was appointed Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Laco was the chairman of the Liberal Union Party.

Other films where he was a screenwriter: “New Shelter” – 1977; “The days that brought spring” – 1979; “Dorina” – 1979; “Our Common Home” – 1981; “Three days from a life” – 1986.

Laco passed away on October 21, 2016.
