Hysen Bashhysa
Actor of “Aleksander Moisiu” Theater, Durres and Albanian Cinematography.

He was born in Durres on September 16. He came to the theater “A. Moisiu” as a professional actor after completing a 1-year course at the “People’s Theater” in 1974. He has performed about 60 roles, some of them important and very important roles.

Fadil Pacrami’s drama “The Case of Sajmir the engineer” reinforces the conviction that Hysen Bashhysa was an actor with very high-quality features and that his career was undisputed. An order from the first secretary of the Durrës Party Committee, Iliaz Reka was enough for Bashhysa to start his career as a professional.

Nikolin Xhoja, Vangjel Heba, Lutfi Hoxha, Spiro Urumi and Vera Urumi, Teodor Rupi and Todi Thanasi will reserve the warmest reception for the 23-year-old who saw the actors of Durrës as idols full of life and spirit.

Successes for him came one after another. The next diploma for the actor will come after the performance in the main role of Kujtim Spahivogli’s drama “A friend of my class”. The young man was not satisfied only with the theater as he became a very active part of the stage with interpretations of the poems of Dritëro Agolli, Ismail Kadare, Fatos Arapi, Xhevahir Spahiu, Bardhyl Londo, Mimoza Ahmeti, Mayakovski, Burns, etc. And as if it wasn’t enough even with pop music, he started to play leading roles in films as well.

Bashhysa stood out with the role of Mic Sokol in the drama “Albanian Covenant” (1978) by E. Kryeziu and then with the role of Sulejman Vokshi in the drama “The first year, red and black” (1983), confirming his epic profile for the figures of heroes and national personalities were given life and graceful appearances. With the role of Sergei Sergeich Paratov in the drama “Dowry Girl” by N. Ostrovsky, in 2006, he brought to attention the figure of a “good” and “kind” man, but basically mean and amoral, while with the old man Eugene in the drama “Tango” by Slavomir Mrozhek, in 2008 he managed to embody the man without personality, barren, a piece of social anachronism that needs to be modified, however. With this role, he won the first prize as “Best Actor” at the Albanian Theater Festival in Diber, Macedonia.

Kokonozi (1981), Clyde in “Tragic American Nights” by Erskin Colldwell (1984). ), Astriti from “Dorina” by T. Laco (1986); Denmark in the comedy “The Shadow of the Other” by R. Pulahes (1989).
