Filika Dimo – Ujkaj (1939-2021)
Actress of the “Aleksander Moisiu” Theater – Durres and Albanian Cinematography.

She was born in Tirana on August 1, 1939. Dimo completed his studies at the High Institute of Arts. After graduation, she worked for some time at the “Teatri Popullor” and then worked as an actress on the staff of the “Aleksander Mosiu” Theater in Durres, the place where she had her longest artistic career.

She is the wife of the well-known scenographer of this institution, the now deceased Zef Ujkaj (1936-1990), who in 1975 was convicted by the system of the time, and together with him, on this occasion, Mrs. Filika was also expelled from the theater.

 

In addition to stage activity, she has also acted in several films, starting with the role of Shpresa in the joint Albanian-Soviet film “The Tempest” (1959). She also plays a leading role as Beatrice in the TV show “Time don`t Waits” (1984). Other films we can remember: “Martyrs of monuments” (1980) in the role of ethnographer Kepler; “New Morning” (1980) the doctor’s wife; “White sheets” (1990) as Elvira.

The actress passed away on October 21, 2021.
