Anastas Kondo (1937 – 2006)
Writer, screenwriter. He is the author of the script of the film “The Last Winter”.
Born in Kucove to a family from Vunoi on November 28, 1937. Kondo finished High School at the “7 November” polytechnic in the geology department in Tirana, while studying geology in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg) in the former BS. that in the school banks.
Kondo worked as a geological engineer and at the same time published several stories, novellas and novels, some of which were screened by turning into film scripts by himself or as a co-author with professional screenwriters and directors of Kinostudio K.Dilo, M.Fejzo, N.Lako , R, Gjoza etc.
The first film based on his story was “When it dawned a day” – 1971. Also the scripts of the films “Explosion” – 1974 / “Little partisan Velo” – 1980 were written with co-authors. Former co-author or author in the scripts of 5 other films such as: “Couriers” – 1976 “Treasure” – 1981 / “Mission beyond the sea” – 1988 / “The Death of a Man” – 1992.
One of the most successful films based on his story “Women of my village” was “Last Winter” – 1976. He was also known for his literary creativity, where some of the works have been awarded national prizes. Among the volumes with stories, we mention “Bridge”, “When the man ends and dies”, “Gates of the sun”, “Why they killed Odysseus”, “Kio”, “People and stones”, “When it dawned a day” etc.
The writer, journalist and screenwriter of several well-known films, Anastas Kondo is the author of several texts and scientific studies, which laid the foundations of the science of Micropaleontology in our country. For several years in a row, he worked in the direction of the literature, culture and education sectors. He also worked as deputy minister of education and culture, secretary of the Union of Writers and Artists, Chairman of the Culture and Arts Committee. Passed away on May 19, 2006
