Shaqir Kodra Composer He was born in Durres on May 1, 1948. In 1966, he refused the branch of architecture, insisting on studying music at the High Institute of Arts in Tirana. He was an excellent student at the "Naim Frashëri" high school in Durrës and had not studied in high school or artistic school. He completed his studies at the High Institute of Music Arts in 1972. He has conducted various formations of the Symphony Orchestra. He owned and played very elegantly on the piano, and also wrote and composed almost all genres of music. He also composed songs at various festivals and activities. His songs "Apple flowers", "With the openness of children", "Heroes of the Ebro River", and many others are appreciated in local and national festivals. In 1975, the song-hymn of the Durrsak composer, "Shokët" was sung by Vaçe Zela, the greatest Albanian singer of light music, and also by Luan Zhegu. In addition to other musical creativity, he also composed the music of 4 feature films, starting with "A difficult journey" – 1977; "Guest" – 1979; "We came from the war" – 1979; "The old man and the enmity" – 1981. His works were not accepted in the Decades of May, as he was considered a circle composer. The orders of the directors Hysen Hakani, Xhezair Dafa and Petrit Llanaj for the soundtrack of the films "The Guest" and "Difficult Journey" only give him the satisfaction of creative work, but they cannot overcome the sadness and depression that had begun to plague him. No one knows why Shaqir Kodra moved from a music specialist at the Palace of Culture in Durrës to one of the villages in the district as a teacher of drawing and handicrafts. His contributions to the city's and national culture were not enough to stop the selfishness of the detractors. Died on June 27, 1996.
