Aleko Skali (1922 – 1980)
One of the veteran Albanian actors. Actor of the theater “AZ Cajupi” – Korce and director of the Estrade troupe of this city.
Born in Korce on December 6, 1922. Skali is graduated from the high school of Korce, proving himself as a well-known intellectual. From the beginning of 1930, he became active with the theater group “Rinia Korcare”, standing out as a talented actor with a future.
After the liberation of the country, he works as a journalist at Radio Korca, covering the cultural and artistic life of the city and beyond. In 1950, he is one of the founders of the “A, Z Cajupi” theater, being included in its first premiere in the drama “Permbysja” by Lavrenjev. He was one of the successful actors of this troupe in the years of consolidation and progress towards the increase of artistic quality, even the director Sokrat mio activated her on many occasions as an assistant director, a job she did until 1960, when he was appointed director of the Professional Estrade troupe immediately after its formation.
He performed this task until v. 1968 performing about 30 premieres, as well as the operetta “Together life is a song”.
Aleko Skali was also a stage writer with a series of humorous creations. He wrote beautiful dramatic pieces, song lyrics, etc.
As a veteran artist and undeniably helpful in the ascent of the Korce Theater and Estrade, he was also characterized by love, work and passion for art.
Aleko Skali also took part in two or three episodic roles in cinematography, in the films “Skenderbeu”; “Lady from the city” and in “Confrontation”.
We unfortunately don`t know the exact date but Skali passed away in 1980.
