(1943 – 2008) Writer, publicist and screenwriter. He was born in Vlora on January 1, 1943. After finishing his higher studies, he worked for a while in the forensics laboratory near the Ministry of Internal Affairs and at the same time wrote many stories and novels. He left temporarily due to conflicts with the leaders of this department and worked for a period in the editorial office of the feature film at Kinostudio "Shqiperi e Re". In 1976, he wrote the first script for the feature film "Fije qe priten". In 1978, the TV series "The Third" was shot with his script. His film "The Warm Hand" at the end of the 80s became a dream and an example for the youth of that time because the real message of the film was precisely the isolation and the fundamental influence that the opinion of "others" had on the success or failure of life than the individual. Almost all the films that Neshat Tozaj had as a screenwriter were based on his personal experience in his profession as an investigator. Neshat Tozaj was the first writer who directly attacked the corruption of a rotten system in 1987, showing the terror of a woman whose life and future were destroyed by officials at that time. Among other films made based on his script are: "From the middle of the darkness" – 1978 (co-author) / "Gezhoja e vjeter" – 1980 / "Gracka" – 1983 / "Dora e geritate" – 1983, a film he made echoes for special treatment and was awarded the First Prize at the Albanian Film Festival – 1984. Other screenplays: "Decision" – 1984 (co-author) / "Murder in the hunt" – 1987 / "Loneliness" – 1990. He wrote a series of very successful books and turned an important part of them into film scripts that are still remembered today not only by the generation of the 90s but also by the younger generation. His book "Shalom", which describes simple Albanian families who during the Second World War risked their lives to hide and help the Jewish community in Albania, caused it to be considered an "Islamophobe", a new term also used against some of the other writers. Albanian (surprisingly also with Muslim names, such as Ismail, Neshat, etc.).
